Math Reflection

One thing I have learnt, I have learnt how to use many methods of maths problem solving strategies Like: Basic facts, x + - ∻, T-chart, grids, Number patterns, Guess and check and finding the rule.

One thing I need to work on, Our whole group needs to work on working together and presenting more.

Tupaia

I learnt these facts about Tupaia!
Who he was?
He was a Polynesian Voyager, Artist, Translator and Navigator who discovered Gisborne in New Zealand with James Cook.

Where did he come from?
He came from a Island called Tahiti.

What was he well known for?
He was well know for Translating and Navigating.

Why was he in NZ?
He was in NZ to research Matariki and and the land.

What happened to Tupaia?
On the way to England he was feeling home sick and he got very ill and died of malaria and pneumonia.

Maths Problem Solving

This term we have been doing problem solving in groups, and have been learning about different ways to solve problems.

Today's Problem.  >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
We had to use the guess and check strategy, addition, subtraction and multiplication.

The rule: Every rod we had to add 4 crosses.

We learnt how to read the problem correctly and find the rule by looking at the pattern.

The problem asked us how many crosses there were for a certain amount of rods.

What i have learned

One thing that you have learnt about in school last term?
I have learnt how to be more mature and deal with things more serious.

One thing that i want to improve in my learning?
I want to know my multiplication and division off by heart.

One thing i have enjoyed?
I enjoy CTG and WHR because it teaches me to be careful with tools.
